FORMULA: Each ml sterilely contains:
Dexamethasone sodium phosphate equivalent to
2 mg
Vehicle, c.b.p. 1 ml.
DESCRIPTION AND MECHANISM OF ACTION: ALIN VETERINARIO® is a glucocorticoid of immediate action, composed of dexamethasone in the form of sodium phosphate.
Effective levels of dexamethasone are immediate, a useful feature when urgent therapeutic action is required.
ALIN VETERINARIO® synthetic steroid, unlike natural corticosteroids, maintains a lower sodium retention capacity with a pharmacological effect (anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic) 29 times greater than cortisol. ALIN VETERINARIO® its mechanism of action in the anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and anaphylactic response is by improving the production of lipocortin, a protein that inhibits the enzyme phospholipase A2, responsible for the transformation of fatty acids into arachidonic acid (AA) through membranes destroyed cell phones. AA acts as a substrate for two enzyme systems, cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase.
1. Prostaglandins are derived from cyclooxygenase, which are mediators of the inflammatory response.
2. From the lipoxygenase generated by the leukotriene group, a powerful chemotactic group that stimulates the migration of leukocytes to exudates and is also implicated in allergic diseases and immune and non-immune inflammation.
Also ALIN VETERINARIO® with another mechanism (the metabolic), causes the glucocorticoid effect by increasing blood glucose levels, stimulating hepatic gluconeogenesis, a decrease in the peripheral use of glucose, a depression in protein synthesis at the liver level and an increase of appetite, giving it a great utility in ketosis problems, a metabolic process in ruminants that, for different reasons, present concentrations below their normal glucose needs.
INDICATIONS:
Cattle, sheep and goats: In states of anaphylactic shock, septic shock, as an adjunct in dermatitis, arthritis and poisoning, dermatitis and dermatomyositis.
In cases of parturient paresis, mastitis, metritis, traumatic gastritis and pyelonephritis together with the administration of an adequate primary therapy.
In cases of ketosis, the effect of ALIN VETERINARIO® occurs between the first 12 to 24 hours, manifested by a rapid progress towards normal blood glucose levels and the decrease in ketone bodies in the first 24 hours, the animal recovering its behavior habitual and appetite. The levels of milk production that are reduced in these conditions, begin to increase and in some cases they become equal to the production they had before presenting the problem.
Horses: In states of anaphylactic shock, septic shock and allergies, in the treatment of acute muscoloskeletal inflammations such as: arthritis, bursitis, tendosynovitis, traumatic myositis and as an adjunct in the improvement and reduction of claudications and laminitis. ALIN VETERINARIO® can also be used in case of fatigue, cardiac exhaustion, influenza and placental retention knowing the cause.
Swine: In states of anaphylactic, septic shock and allergies, arthritis, poisoning, stress shock and intestinal edema, lameness, bronchopneumonia, traumatic limb injuries, adjuvant in metritis and mastitis.
Canines: States of anaphylactic shock, states of septic shock, allergies, dermatitis, eczema, otitis, myositis, arthritis, spondylitis, lameness and as an aid in the treatment of inflammation in the vertebral disc.
DOSE: Unique in mg per day.
Cattle: 5 to 20 mg per day (2.5 to 10 ml per day).
Swine: 2 mg per day (1 ml per day).
Equine: 2.5 to 5 mg per day (1.2 to 2.5 ml per day).
Feline: 0.125 to 1 mg per day (0.06 to 0.5 ml per day).
Canines: 0.125 to 1 mg per day (0.06 to 0.5 ml per day).
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION: Intramuscular, intravenous, intra-articular.
In the case of intra-articular administration, extract synovial fluid and apply the same extracted volume of ALIN VETERINARIO®.
