RPM DX0.2 is a fast anti-inflammatory action corticosteroid. Due to it low % (2 mg/ml – 0,2%), it is most suitable for the use in racing events.
Indications: Anaphylactic shock, traumatic. Local or general allergic or inflammatory reactions. Neuritis, bursitis, arthritis, synovitis, myalgias. Eczema, hives. Prevention of transport stress.
Target species: sports and work horses and camels.
COMPOSITION
Dexamethasone 21 phosphate ………. 2 mg
Formulation agents q.s ………………… 1 ml
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
2.5 to 10 ml every 24 hours or according to the criteria of the Veterinary Doctor by low intravenous, intramuscular, intrasynovial, intra-articular application or local infiltrations.
If used for competition, 3 to 10 ml 24 hs before the event.
Precautions: It is recommended in prolonged treatments not to cut it abruptly due to the risk of depression of the adrenal glands.
Do not administer to animals in their third trimester of pregnancy since dexamethasone could induce unwanted preterm labor.
Mares are more resistant to this effect, since at least 100 mg doses of IM dexamethasone are required for three consecutive days to achieve this, since this drug does not cross the placental barrier in this species.
