Flucortan is steroid anti-inflammatory for intramuscular, subcutaneous, intravenous and intra-articular application indicated for all cases where corticosteroid therapy is recommended in cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and cats.
COMPOSITION
Flumethasone: 0.5 mg
Vehicle q.s.p .: 1 ml.
ACTION
The use of a corticosteroid (eg flumethasone) in combination with antibacterial therapy produces faster results in the fight against bacterial infections. Initially used in the United States and France, this combination is widely used worldwide. Inflammation is known to be one of the animal organism’s defense means against infection. It is a defense action that tends to isolate or encapsulate the focus from the rest of the body.
Meanwhile, this process blocks the penetration of antibiotics into the infection area. Flumethasone reduces inflammation, thereby allowing antibiotics to reach the area of infection more quickly and effectively. With respect to hydrocortisone, it has a gluconeogenic action 700 times more powerful and an anti-inflammatory action 120 times more powerful.
