EQUAN-GEL® is composed of two active ingredients, ivermectin and praziquantel, which acts against nematodes (round worms), cestodes (flat worms) and various external parasites (arthropods). The mechanism of action of ivermectin is through gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA); praziquantel causes spastic paralysis of the parasite wall, inhibiting glucose uptake by it. EQUAN-GEL® eliminates eggs, larvae, young and adult stages of parasites, it is indicated for the treatment of Gasterophilus infestations, as well as cutaneous onchocerciasis; when skin lesions occur due to the migration of the third larval stage of Draschia, Hareonema or the microfilaria of Onchocerca; It is also indicated in the treatment of lung infestations by the fourth larval stage and adult stage of Dictyocaulus arnfieldi. Ivermectin is effective on Cyathostomum, Cylococus, Cylocodontophorus, Oxyuris equi, Parascaris equorum, Strongylus edentatus, S. vulgaris, Habronema muscae, Strongyloides equinus, S. westeri and Trichostrogylus; On the other hand, praziquantel is effective against cestodes (flat worms) that affect equines such as Anoplocephala magna, A. perfoliata and Paraxoplocephala mamillana, parasites that cause digestive tract disorders such as colic due to ileus impaction, perforations of the cecum and peritonitis.
USE IN:
Equines.
DOSE:
1 ml for every 60 kg of body weight. The syringe contains enough quantity to treat up to 600 kg of body weight.
