The product is intended to cause temporary neurolysis of the deep and superficial peroneal nerves, and eventually of the tibial nerve, with the purpose of reducing pain in the tarsal joint in chronic disorders. This pain reduction produces an increase in the joint mobility and more irrigation in the area, while it improves the horse’s life quality.
COMPOSITION: Phenol 4.57 g Excipients q.s. 100 mL
PRESENTATION: Vial containing 50 ml.
ADMINISTRATION: Perineural, applying the technique of truncal anesthesia in the appropiate nerves. Eventually, it can be applied via subcutaneous route in the sparvin area. Due to the product’s density, it is necessary to apply it with a thick needle, for example, 18 G x 1.5. In very cold environments, the bottle can be placed into a double boiler to facilitate the application.
DOSAGE: The indicated doses refer to adult sport horses. Deep peroneal nerve: 5 to 8 mL Superficial peroneal nerve: 1.5 to 2 mL Tibial nerve: 6 to 10 mL If the decision is to infiltrate the sparvin area, from 1 to 2 mL must be injected in the area via subcutaneous route, with or without air. Rub the skin and walk the horse after injection. This dosage may vary according to the acting professional’s criteria and expertise.
